Datsun 260Z bolt kit

The S30 Big Bolt Kit was measured bolt by bolt on a 260Z: a 1977 2+2, chassis GRS30, delivered new in Australia. If you are restoring a 260Z or a 260Z 2+2, this is the closest fit you will find.

It is a nut and bolt kit for a full restoration, or for a concours rebuild where every fastener should look like it did when the car was new: bolts, nuts, washers and screws in the right sizes, strength marks and zinc finishes.

Not yet complete: the transmission and its associated fasteners are not included. Interior coverage is limited to the fasteners beneath the dashboard; a small number of additional interior fasteners are supplied as complimentary extras. Certain key suspension bolts without a marked strength grade, mainly in the front suspension, are also not included.

Measured on a 260Z

Every bag in the kit comes from taking a real 260Z apart and recording what holds it together, section by section. The result is about 240 labelled bags, from the engine bay to the tow points, with a parts lookup that tells you which bag to reach for.

2+2 and two-seater

The 2+2 has a longer body and some of its own trim and glass hardware. The measured car is a 2+2, and most of the kit is shared with the two-seater. Check the lookup if you are working on the parts that differ.

Correct hardware

JIS small heads, 4 and 7 mark bolts where the factory used them, and factory finishes. See JIS vs metric bolts for why a hardware-store bolt is often the wrong fit.

Questions

Does the kit suit a 260Z 2+2?

Yes. The list was measured on a 1977 260Z 2+2, a right-hand drive GRS30, so that is the closest match of any S30.

Is it for right-hand drive cars?

It was measured on a right-hand drive, Australian delivered car. Left-hand drive cars differ in some areas, such as the steering and pedals.

What finish are the bolts?

Factory style finishes, mostly yellow zinc and white zinc, with any exception marked on the bag list.
