The S30 is the first Nissan Fairlady Z, sold outside Japan as the Datsun 240Z, 260Z and 280Z. This is a full nut and bolt restoration kit for it: bolts, nuts, washers and screws in the factory JIS sizes, strength marks and zinc finishes, the sort of detail a concours rebuild needs.
What is in it
The hardware is split into sections, so you can sort it once and work through the car in order.
| Section | Covers |
|---|---|
| Engine bay | Brakes and general engine bay hardware |
| Body | Front end, doors and glass, rear and hatch, pillars and trim, wipers and fuel filler |
| Engine | Engine mounts, top end and intake, and oil pan |
| Suspension and steering | Front and rear suspension, steering, and brakes and hubs |
| Underbody | Fuel system, brake and fuel lines, handbrake and exhaust, and tow points |
| Drivetrain and diff | Rear diff and front diff mount. Coming as a Small Bolt Kit once priced |
| Interior | Dash, HVAC, pedals and console. Incomplete so far, mainly under-dash hardware |
Right hardware, not close hardware
Japanese cars of this era use JIS small-head bolts, not the metric sizes you find at a hardware store. The kit uses the correct head sizes, finishes, washers and lengths, including 4 and 7 mark bolts where the car used them. Read more in JIS vs metric bolts.
How you find a bolt
Open the parts lookup, pick your car, and search for what you are fitting, like "hood hinge" or "M8 nut". It gives you the bag number. See how the bag system works.
Check the fit
Each list is built from one measured car, a 1977 Datsun 260Z 2+2 (chassis GRS30), right-hand drive, delivered new in Australia. Other models, years and markets can differ, so check that a kit suits your car before you buy.
